"I've always wanted to give back to the area that I'm from," says Greg Tiburzi about his recent musical tour Songs of Mesabi. "I started the project thinking I was going to do a musical."

With Tiburzi's songs, the tone, subject, and even genre change from tune to tune. "They really vary in tone," says Tiburzi. "I call it a pastiche of song styles." Tiburzi took consideration in pairing the content of songs with the style through which it was presented.

Although the project deviated from the musical theater track, Tiburzi set out on a Northland tour to present songs that highlight the culture of the Iron Range. He's been performing at a variety of libraries throughout the area.
