Minnesota musician Emily Haavik began her music career in the Northland. The catalyst for Emily Haavik and the 35s makes her way back to the Twin Ports for occasional performances, including for the annual Homegrown Music Festival. And even with a young child and another on the way, Emily still finds time for music.

Growing up, Emily spent a lot of time with Christian music. Her first album was by an artist who eventually made a "scandalous" movie appearance. Her first concert was of a band that had yet to hit their peak of popularity. And Emily's guilty pleasure song turns toward popular-country. "I think it's such a beautiful song, and I know that it's super cheesy."
