Back Tracks: Three Music Questions with Dan Munthe

For many, the 2025 Homegrown Music Festival is likely to be a very fun and busy 8-day stretch. For Dan Munthe, it means performing with Life Parade on Wednesday night, with Deep Fake Five on Friday night, and as alter ego Dan the Monkeyman at the Children's Music Showcase on opening day. Through it all, he'll be singing, playing the keyboard, the guitar, and dressing up as a primate.

Looking back, Dan's first album purchase was of a quintessential 1980s group. His first live concert got bluesy. And his guilty pleasure song was pulled from memories of performing at weddings. "That's just one of the most beautiful songs... I wouldn't turn it off."
