George Ellsworth is most well-known as a musician, but in recent years he's had the opportunity to stretch his theatrical skills. In November, at Zeitgeist in Duluth, he had the opportunity to morph his David Lynch impression to present a rather troublesome Blue Jay. On top of that, George once teamed up with Danny Glover to create a musically gifted high school custodian; a character for a holiday movie that was being filmed in the Northland.
Back in the summer of 1989, George made his first album purchase - a soundtrack from one of the biggest films of that summer. The first concert he attended concluded with a conversation with the enigmatic and kind musician herself. And for a guilty pleasure song, George is drawn to an 80s sing-along. "It makes me happy. It genuinely thrills me as a musical statement."
