Back Tracks: Three Music Questions with JP Olsen

A man with a white beard, blue winter cap and flannel shirt - standing in a dark studio
Lance Haavisto

After spending nearly four decades in New York, JP Olsen has found his way to the Northland. Although his personal experiences with the area are somewhat limited, he does have family ties throughout the north woods. JP brings his professional talents to his position as Senior Director of Content at PBS North and The North 103.3FM, and he has already been bringing his musical talents to area stages.

JP got an early start with purchasing music - he started at age five. His love of live music began with a concert when he was a sixth grader. And as guilty pleasure songs go, few are as persistent as JP. He once tried to spin the song 38 times on a diner jukebox. "They literally unplugged it - they unplugged the jukebox. They just couldn't take it."
