Love thy neighbor seems to be the mantra of Eddy Gilmore, an author and farmer who left Corporate America behind to live presently in the community.
"That meant not working for this distant mothership," says Gilmore of his years in cubical work. "The only way to do that meant full immersion with the community."
Gilmore's latest book, Lit Up, revolves around his journey toward building a life one never needs to retire from. The book highlights many tales of human connection, including stories of an unlikely friendship with musician Charlie Parr.
"For many years... I wanted to be a farmer and a writer, and I always thought that was like saying I wanted to be an astronaut," laughs Gilmore. "Trust that you're not a complete fool."
