Where's Art: Remembering Kat Ramsland

Sarah Brokke

"Kat was a true bright light in our arts community," says Annie Dugan.

The Northland recently lost an impactful member of the arts community. Kat Ramsland was a teacher at Lake Superior College and for the Duluth Art Institute. "She really understood the role that community has in the arts and that art has in the community."

An opportunity for reflection and introspection can be found at the Zeitgeist Atrium. The visual art of Sarah Brokke will be on display alongside poems by Kyle Leia. The two artists took a reflective approach to the exhibit with Brokke sometimes creating paintings in response to Leia's words, and sometimes Leia crafting a poem based on Brokke's paintings. A reading and discussion are planned for this Tuesday, November 19th at 5:30pm.

You can hear Where's Art every Monday morning at 8:20 on Northland Morning.
