Luke Moravec is familiar to many of you as the host of Northland Morning here on the North 1033. Or perhaps you know him better as a local musician, actor, or trivia host. This week, instead of him interviewing someone else for Back Tracks, we decided to turn the tables (or flip the record?) and ask him for his first album, first concert, and a guilty pleasure song.

Luke spent his first fourteen years on a small farm outside of Lindstrom, Minnesota. Then, his family relocated to St. Paul just in time for him to start high school. How might this country mouse/city mouse upbringing have shaped his musical experiences and acquisitions, and who shaped his tastes in those formative teen years? Luke talks with Chris Harwood about how music can evoke an emotional response and also connect him to specific memories of his life.

Chris Harwood is The North 1033’s Production Director and (acting) Program Director, a morning/daytime host, and the host of Soul Village. He is also a musician, a music historian, an audio engineer, and an avid record collector.
