Music, storytelling, and general frivolity are on the schedule for the annual Holiday Spectacular Extravaganza Pageant celebration at Zeitgeist. Kendra Carlson has been the curator of the event since its inception in 2017. "The Spectacular generally features artists around town doing things they're great at," says Carlson. "We want to represent a variety of holidays... another thing we want to represent is what's happening around the community."
Variety is at the heart of the event. Between the music and stories are presentations that range from whimsical to educational. At a past Spectacular, Kristen Hylenski gave an academic lecture on Krampus. "This year I'm just in a wonderful supporting role," says Hylenski. "It's just a joyful time to come together as a community... you leave there feeling like you're a part of something."
Tickets for the Holiday Spectacular Extravaganza Pageant are available on the Zeitgeist website or at the door.
You can hear Community Connection every Tuesday and Thursday at 8am on Northland Morning. This edition of Community Connection is made possible in part by Lakewalk Surgery Center.
