For over forty years, The College of St. Scholastica has hosted the annual Handel's Messiah Singalong, an event that invites community members to join in the chorus of the classic holiday work.

Richard Carrick is the Director of Choral Activities at the college and will be at the helm for the event. For Carrick, Handel's work is a lifelong love. "Every Christmas season my dad would put it on our CD player," says Carrick. "I remember just lying on the couch for the full two hours of the recording and just listening and loving that part of my holiday tradition." Music is available at the event for all participants to borrow or to buy. Attendees will be seated to suit their vocal range, though singing is not required.

Handel's Messiah Singalong is free to the public and begins tonight at 7:30pm at the Mitchell Auditorium on the campus of The College of St. Scholastica.

You can hear Community Connection every Tuesday and Thursday at 8am on Northland Morning. This edition of Community Connection is made possible in part by Lakewalk Surgery Center.
