"Sometimes art cannot be tied to a theme," says Annie Dugan who doesn't have a theme this week for the art scene in the Northland. Although the events don't tie together in any discernable manner, the highlighted events do offer a wide array of experiences.
Art Night Out at the Duluth Art Institute showcases several artists whose works have been on display through the summer. There's one last chance to check out the exhibits on Tuesday, September 12th from 5:30-8pm.
Also on Tuesday night, the Visual Culture Lecture Series kicks off at the University of Minnesota Duluth. The series consists of panels and lectures throughout the year and begins with a panel of alumni who have "made a way for themselves as artist in the world." The event begins at 6pm in the Marshall Performing Arts Center.
And on Thursday, September 14th from 5-7pm, Duluth Pottery hosts Wendy Lee Savage's Traditions and New Interpretations. "There's a real eye to balance and composition," says Dugan of Savage's work. "It's a perfect fitting spot at Duluth Pottery."
You can hear Where's Art every Monday morning at 8:20 on Northland Morning.
