Now What? begins with a chapter that reads like loss feels; frenetic thoughts, itemized memories, and question after question of what to do next. As the book unfolds, the stories find a sense of calm acceptance and understanding of the various forms of loss.
Author Beth Probst details the many moments of her life that led to writing the book. Although the various stories span the author's life, much of the book came into focus recently. "I think that theme of processing or trying to understand and unpack and provide perspective really happened in the last two years," says Probst.
Probst addresses the loss of her parents, an adoption that didn't come to fruition, and more. Through it all, a large part of the focus becomes the actions after the fact. "Loss is a part of life," says Probst. "The sooner we can... embrace it, the easier it becomes to process it."
Now What? Navigating Life After Loss can be purchased online and at Zenith Bookstore beginning on April 6th.
