The Homegrown Music Festival has always been about more than music. As the website says, "What started in 1999 with ten acts has matured to an eight-day community-wide local music, arts and cultural extravaganza."
Cinephile Annie Dugan contributed, too: her idea for locally-produced music videos to accompany some of the songs took off about about a dozen years ago, and the 13th Annual Music Video Showcase Retrospective will be online this evening at 8pm. (Check out the portal here for more information)
May is Zeitgeist's Bus, Bike, Walk month, encouraging folks to try alternative methods of commuting. Their series of events includes a talk by Tin Cup Design's Jordan Sundberg, Wednesday at noon. You can find out more about Art Is Everywhere here.
And Kirsten Aune's Kirsten Aune Textiles wil be open Saturday in the Lincoln Park craft district from noon until 3:00pm.
