Since his last visit to our studios, this Winona, Minnesota performer has released a blues album, an album of instrumentals on 12-string guitar under the name upup/OVER, and, most recently, songs recorded with bassist Nick Salisbury and drummer Lars-Erik Larson as the Mike Munson Trio. Munson talked with us about the improvisational nature of the trio and how it allows him to take a different approach on guitar when he joined us in the studio on March 14, 2025. He also performed songs from his recent releases.
