Seth Shostak
Seth is the Senior Astronomer at the SETI Institute, in Mountain View, California. He has an undergraduate degree in physics from Princeton University, and a doctorate in astronomy from the California Institute of Technology. For much of his career, Seth conducted radio astronomy research on galaxies, and has published approximately fifty papers in professional journals. He also founded and ran a company producing computer animation for TV.

Grant Barrett is an American lexicographer, dictionary editor, and co-host of the nationally syndicated public radio show A Way with Words. Known for his expertise in slang and emerging English, he has led editorial teams at Dictionary.com and contributed to dozens of major dictionary projects, including works for Oxford, Cambridge, and Collins. He’s the author of Perfect English Grammar and several dictionaries of slang and political language, and co-founder of Wordnik.com.

Adam Kempenaar is co-founder and co-host of Filmspotting and a professor at the University of Iowa, where he teaches courses on film criticism, sports and cinema, and podcasting. A longtime member of the Chicago Film Critics Association, he also serves as a marketing and content consultant for the Chicago International Film Festival. Adam earned his B.A. in Communication Studies and M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication, with a focus in Film, from the University of Iowa after studying English at Grinnell College.
