Celebrating College Radio Day 10/5

College Radio Day

College students takeover KUMD's daytime airwaves in celebration of National College Radio Day!
Student DJs are hosting the KUMD College Radio Day takeover and spotlighting the music from student-run “The Basement” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Friday. National College Radio Day celebrates the efforts of students in curating unique, expressive, and meaningful content. “The Basement” playlist includes hip-hop, indie rock, punk, electronic and more.

In addition to playing music, The Basement DJ’s and KUMD marketing students are celebrating on campus, giving away concert tickets and prizes to raise awareness of the value of college radio.

“Our students get professional experience in broadcasting, marketing, writing, sound engineering, public speaking, leadership and more. These are skills they’ll take with them after graduation” says Maija Jenson, KUMD's Program Director. “College Radio Day is a great opportunity to highlight this hands-on learning, and is also a big ‘thank you’ for their dedication to KUMD.”

Time: Friday, October 5th 10:00am-3:00pm on KUMD 103.3FM
