Fall is fleeting. In the local area, there are more leaves on the ground than still hanging onto the trees. With the windy weekend ahead, bare branches will become a common sight as we head into the back half of October.

In addition to watching the leaves fall, Larry Weber is also getting a count of the migrants, keeping a close eye on the thermometer, and looking forward to the final stretch of dark mornings before daylight saving on November 1st.

You can hear Backyard Almanac every Friday at 8:20am on Northland Morning.

Luke Moravec is the host for Northland Morning on The North 103.3. He’s also a local actor, musician and writer. He loves puzzles, riddles and fun mysteries.
