Tom Kasper is already thinking spring. With the weather dropping like a clump of dirt from a well-worn gardening glove, it's time to get a few staples in the ground.
For Kasper, the "Big Three" that require attention this time of the year are peonies, irises, and bleeding hearts. Breaking apart those clumps of roots and "eyes" is a good way to keep a healthy garden. Once they're above ground and separated, they can be replanted during the handful of mild days that we have left.
