Larry Weber eyes up the "Awesome month of August."

Warblers are gearing up for migration, Raspberries, thimbleberries and more are ripe for picking - blackberries are just around the corner. Goldenrod, aster, and sunflowers are beginning to dominate the late-summer landscape.

Some see August as the beginning of autumn, but there is still plenty of summer to be had. Fawns are still spotted, goldfinches are just beginning to build nests, and (even though we've dipped under 15 hours per day) plenty of sunshine remains.

Luke Moravec is the host for Northland Morning on The North 103.3. He’s also a local actor, musician and writer. He loves puzzles, riddles and fun mysteries.
