Dr. Gabe Chan, an associate professor at the University of Minnesota Humphrey School of Public Affairs of Science, Technology and Environment, helps unpack the details to the Supreme Court's decision on West Virginia v. EPA.

The Court's 6-3 decision limits the EPA and their ability to regulate carbon in the power sector. With the world watching at a time when countries are pledging specific climate goals, this event has an impact that goes beyond US borders.

Though this decision has complicated the way forward for the EPA, local and state leaders are continuing to take action by independently setting environmentally progressive initiatives.
