The 2022 John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon has begun! WDSE Producer Megan McGarvey talks with The North 1033's Chris Harwood from the starting line. At 10:00, following the spirit of John Beargrease as the first team, team number two led by Alice White crossed the starting line, followed by 23 other teams. 19 teams are competing in the Beargrease 120 (the mid-distance race), and 13 teams in the Beargrease 40.
