Green Visions: Lawns to Legumes

An image of a rusty patch bumblebee above the words, "Your Yard Can Be the Change," a slogan for the Lawns to Legumes program.

How Minnesotans can make their lawns more welcoming for our pollinator friends.

Tara Perriello from the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources joins us this morning to talk about the Lawns to Legumes program. The BWSR is partnering with Blue Thumb to provide resources to Minnesota residents to convert some of their yard to flowering plants that provide habitat and forage to pollinators and other wildlife.

The program offers cost-share grants, workshops and free online resources to help people get started. Applications are due February 15, 2022.
