People still haven't got the message that turning unwanted goldfish loose into your local lake, pond, or slough is a bad idea.
Despite education - and even adoption - efforts by groups like Minnesota Seagrant, goldfish are still finding their way into bodies of water in the state, where they could possibly spead disease to native fish.
Even if your moral compass isn't sent spinning by dumping former pets or introducing non-native species into the food chain, it turns out that goldfish in your local lake or pond means more bad news: there is something very, very wrong with the water.
