On Wednesday, November 11th, Family Freedom Center (FFC) is hosting their 2nd Annual Fundraiser Gala at Greysolon Ballroom. All proceeds from the event will go support the Family Freedom Center's events and operations.
"Definitely dress to impress... it's going to be a classy affair," says Jacob Bell, Executive Director of Family Freedom Center. "Also bring some shoes that you can dance in." Tickets for the event are $75 each. Attendees can also purchase a table of eight seats for $550. The event includes speakers, dinner, and dancing.
Programming at FFC is supported by funds, but also by volunteers. First Lutheran Church is a new partner with Family Freedom Center. The church has been bringing in upwards of 30-50 volunteers at a time. "[Kids at the center] love to see a consistent person... that's where their trust comes in," says Trish Jones, Director of Youth Programs at Family Freedom Center. "Consistency is something that I really depend on when it comes to our volunteers."
"It takes a village to build our future, and it's really all about empowering our youth and our kids and the kids that come into FFC every single day," says Bell. "They're doing so much and they're building so much... it really does take a lot to continue this work."
Tickets to the Family Freedom Center Fundraiser Gala are available through the Family Freedom Center website.
You can hear Community Connection every Tuesday and Thursday at 8am on Northland Morning.
