Back Tracks: Three Music Questions with Paavo Passi

Paavo Passi

Paavo Passi is the Music Director for Road Salt Radio, the college radio component of The North 103.3 FM. After 9pm, radio gets even more eclectic and explorative as the young DJs spin esoteric tunes from days of yore and fresh tracks from up-and-coming artists.

For a first album, Paavo bought a physical copy of a total classic - with a few dollars from dad. His first live concert turned into more of a mosh-centric event at First Ave than he was expecting. And for a guilty pleasure song, Paavo turned it back a quarter century for a song that might just be having a bit of a renaissance. "It definitely gives me energy... it's just groovy."

Back Tracks receives support from Minnesota Power Employees Credit Union. You can hear Back Tracks every Friday at 8am on Northland Morning.
