As is the case each year, the 2024 Minnesota State Fair will feature a robust menu of new and creative takes on food, many to be found on that celebrated utensil - the stick.

Jean Sramek and Shannon Laing connect annually to discuss the new and intriguing foods. This year features an item that seems to be on everyone's mind: deep-fried ranch.
"The four words to live by at the state fair are - just take a bite," says Sramek who will likely seek out and sample the concoction. Though Laing agrees with her compatriot's philosophy, she has different feelings about this year's most talked about menu item. "It just kind of grosses me out."

And if ranch isn't your thing, there are plenty of other foods - both classic and new - at this year's state fair.

You can hear Community Connection every Tuesday and Thursday at 8am on Northland Morning.
