Deputy Ben Packard is back for more mystery and murder in remote Sandy Lake, Minnesota in Where the Dead Sleep, the new mystery novel by author Joshua Moehling.

In the latest installment (of what is to be at least a four-book series) Packard is tasked with solving the murder of a local ne'er do well while navigating the political and social landmines that come along with running for sheriff. "He's still very much an outsider in this community," says Moehling. "It hampers him in a lot of ways." Though relatively new to town, Packard does have unresolved ties with Sandy Lake, and a mysterious past of his own.

Where the Dead Sleep can be found through various booksellers, including at the Bookstore at Fitger's which listed Moehling's latest as one of the best books of 2023.
