A Wild Path by Douglas Wood is a memoir that feels like an invitation. The author, perhaps best known for his picture book Old Turtle, offers readers a relaxed and personal journey with nature via short stories in this companion piece to Deep Woods, Wild Waters.
"It's fun to go back and mine those memories," says Wood. The memories highlighted in A Wild Path find the author traipsing through the northern wilderness, oftentimes while guiding canoe trips. "On my trips, humor is always a big part of the deal... We laugh a lot while exploring serious things and serious aspects of life."
