Where's Art: New exhibitions, new workshops, and a reopening

An exhibit featuring the sculpted fabric art of Marjorie Fedyszyn, Irreproachable, is opening this Thursday (4/14) from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the George Morrison Galleryof the Duluth Art Institute. At the same time is an artist reception and talk that includes three artists: Fedyszyn, Sarah Brokke (whose exhibit Embody is on exhibition in the John Steffl Gallery), and Kristen Kaas (whose exhibition Refuge is on display in the Corridor Gallery through April).

After remaining closed for two years through the pandemic, Prøve Gallery is reopening its doors this Friday (4/15) from 6 to 9 p.m., with the opening reception for Piotr Szyhalski's COVID-19: Labor Camp Reports.

Springboard for the Arts is presenting two online workshops this Thursday evening. First, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., there will be a workshop for Anishinaabe artists called Work of Art: Pricing, as part of the ongoing Anishinaabe Artists Workshop Series. Second, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., there will be a general workshop for all artists called Cooperative Model for Long-term Economic Development.

Chris Harwood is The North 1033’s Production Director and (acting) Program Director, a morning/daytime host, and the host of Soul Village. He is also a musician, a music historian, an audio engineer, and an avid record collector.
