Jim Rock is the program director of the Alworth Planetarium here at UMD, a professor, and a Sisseton Dakota.
He joins us this morning, on Native American Heritage Day, for a wide-ranging conversation on Thanksgiving (one friend calls it a "puritanical turkey ritual"), the indigenous view of graditude as a daily practive, and coping with what he calls "the waves of trauma still washing up on Turtle Island."
