Radio Gallery: 122 Conversations

After years of creativity, connection and participation, "122 Conversations: Person to Person, Art Beyond Borders" has arrived in Duluth at the Tweed Museum of Art.  Minnesota artist Anne Labovitz has developed a beautiful cross-cultural dialogue and expanded the possibilities of understanding and peace for Duluth and our International Sister Cities around the world through this traveling exhibition.

Inspired by her conversations with people in the five Duluth Sister Cities, International, Labovitz created large scale paintings with vibrant colors and the words and sentiments directly in her work.  The exhibition grew and evolved as the exhibition traveled through constant participation in each city.

From Thunder Bay, Ontario to Rania, Kudistan-Iraq to Växjö, Sweden, participation grew and the works took on new meanings as people in the cities of Petrozavodsk, Russia and  Ohara Isumi-City, Japan added more to the story.  Here it all is, back in Duluth, continuing to grow, inspire and share ideas of peace and cross-cultural understanding.

The opening reception is happening Thursday, Oct. 25 from 6-8:30 p.m. with special guests and live streaming with some sister cities. "122 Conversations" is on display through Jan. 6, 2019.
