Lifelong photographer and Director of the UMD Tweed Museum of Art, Ken Bloom has spent the last few years gearing up for a show of his own work. Stashed away for years, he has brought to light an intriguing window into the past through his documentary photographs from Japan. Opening Feb 11 at the Duluth Art Institute, “Public Domain: Photographs by Ken Bloom,” includes selected works from 3 years of shooting the streets of Japan 1976-79. Up until April 2, the exhibit opens with a reception on Thurs. February 11, from 5 – 7 pm. Listen for more about the inspiration for his work.
