Radio Gallery 5-01-2013: The May Day Parade
The HOTB MayDay Parade will start at the corner of 25th Street East and Bloomington Avenue South in South Minneapolis, and it will end at Powderhorn Park, where the celebration begins at three p.m. The tree of life ceremony will be accompanied by a performance put on by children and adult dancers, puppeteers, a live orchestra and four giant serene puppets who represent the Prairie, Sky, River, and Woods. Radio Gallery speaks with several different key people involved with the event about what this MayDay celebration means to the Twin Cities art community. Special thanks to KFAI for some of our audio this week.
