This week on Radio Gallery, Emory Allen, the artist who designed this year's poster for Sound Unseen joins us to talk about his own work and design. Sound Unseen is a film and music festival that takes place June 8-12 at Pizza Luce, located at 11 East Superior St., and at the Zinema located at E. Superior St. in Duluth, MN.

Sound Unseen is a film and music festival that will take place June 8-12 at Pizza Luce, located at 11 East Superior St., and at the Zinema located at E. Superior St. in Duluth, MN. It will feature music documentaries, rare concert footage, and interactive cinema that is showcased alongside live music.The mission of Sound Unseen is to foster a greater appreciation of cinema, to bridge cultures, create and expand community, provide cultural exchange, networking opportunities and educational outreach through regular interaction with great films, filmmakers, musicians and artists. Allen designed this years poster for the festival and joins us this week to talk about his inspiration for the poster, and his ideas about his work as a whole. He shares his love for drawing and the way he draws from the ever-changing landscape of cities and faces.

Former Program Director, Maija Jenson teaches journalism in the Department of Communication at UMD and was a part of KUMD 2008-2019. She hosted a weekly arts program "Radio Gallery." She shares a lifetime of public radio listening, degrees in journalism and art and 20 years of public radio experience with KFAI, WHA, WSUM and KUMD.
