Radio Gallery 6-01-2011: Mary Plaster
There are many events such a parades and theatre performances that require the use of puppets. This week Radio Gallery speaks to Mary Plaster, an artist who creates papier-m?ch? puppets, as she shares her own experience with constructing puppets for a variety of events. She previously worked with UMD in the musical rendition of The Odyssey by making large puppets of the gods. She has about ten years of experience and is inspired by children's literature and fantasy. Working with puppets and papier-m?ch? allows Plaster to work in many different mediums of art. The exhibit of her work is at Beaner's Central, located at 324 North Central Avenue in Duluth, MN through June with an opening on Thursday June 2nd from 5:30-8:00 p.m.
