This week, in celebration of Women's History Month, Radio Gallery speaks with Marcia Soderman who is a Women's Art Registry of Minnesota (WARM) Mentor and Board member. WARM is located in the Minneapolis/St.Paul area in Minnesota and is a women's art organization that serves Midwest women artists through a variety of programming.

Radio Gallery 3-09-2011: Marcia Soderman

Radio Gallery speaks with Soderman, a Mentor and Board Member of WARM. She shares her experience as a board member, and talks about what the Mentor Program with WARM consists of. It is an intensive program pairs emerging and professional women artists for two years and then exhibits the participants of the program at the end of the two year cycle. Soderman shares what kind of work is being exhibited at WARM this year, and talks about her own experience as an artist. WARM's mission is to build networks and programming that create mentoring, educational, exhibition and professional development opportunities that reflect the diverse voices, visions and values of Minnesota women visual artists. Former Program Director, Maija Jenson teaches journalism in the Department of Communication at UMD and was a part of KUMD 2008-2019. She hosted a weekly arts program "Radio Gallery." She shares a lifetime of public radio listening, degrees in journalism and art and 20 years of public radio experience with KFAI, WHA, WSUM and KUMD.
