Siri Undlin is the force behind this Minnesota project, which grew out of her previous duo Undlin & Wolfe. Humbird’s most recent album, Still Life, was released last year with a sound that “stretches between experimental folk and environmental Americana.” Undlin and her bandmates, Peter Quirsfeld on percussion and Pat Keen on bass, joined us in the studio on October 20, 2022, to share songs from the album in advance of a performance at Sacred Heart Music Center in Duluth the same night. Undlin talked about making the album, which sprung out of living in a house full of musicians during the Covid-19 pandemic and the period of unrest in Minneapolis following the murder of George Floyd. She also shared about what's next for the band.
