Hello potential loving home! My name is Dixie and I am a 42 pound, black and tan, mixed breed who is about 4 years old. I found myself at Animal Allies after I was transferred from a different shelter and I'm now looking for a new, loving home to call my own! I am a playful, independent, friendly and sometimes shy gal. It can take me just a little bit of time to warm up to new people but once I have, I am sure to become your best friend. I love to wear off my energy by playing but right now I am undergoing treatment for heartworm so I am looking for a home that can help keep me calm while I finish these treatments. Once I have finished these treatments, I'm sure I will be happy to play and go on all sorts of new adventures with my new family.
