What motivates a mass shooter?
Early on, as we struggle to find the whys, it seemed helpful conversations were opening up about the importance of mental health treatment - and insurance coverage - in our country.
But as the mass shooting events continue, mental health professionals (like the author of an article in Psychology Today from last fall that's making the rounds again) want to be very clear, not every shooting is rooted in mental illness.
