This week Student Views spotlights hurricane relief efforts at UMD. Elly Johnson from UMD Honors shares their effort to support medical assistance going to Puerto Rico. The UMD Honors program offers students a chance to go above and beyond their degree requirements, committing to community volunteering plus additional honors courses. This community effort is just one of the many ways students in the UMD Honors program volunteer to give back in the Twin Ports.

Maija Jenson
Former Program Director, Maija Jenson teaches journalism in the Department of Communication at UMD and was a part of KUMD 2008-2019. She hosted a weekly arts program "Radio Gallery." She shares a lifetime of public radio listening, degrees in journalism and art and 20 years of public radio experience with KFAI, WHA, WSUM and KUMD.
