Head of the Lakes United Way is partnering with community organizations to host the inaugural “Connecting for a Cause North Shore” event!

What: “Connecting for a Cause North Shore” is a way to meet representatives from local non-profit organizations on the North Shore and learn about how to support their mission and programming through board service, volunteerism, donations and/or fundraising. Our goal is to boost engagement by creating a time and place for non-profits to share their mission and work with members of the community. From maintaining local trails to supporting area veterans, come connect with a cause that is meaningful to you!

Who: Currently the following organizations are registered to table at the event, with more expected to register in the next few weeks: Above and Beyond with U, AEOA/Arrowhead RSVP, ARDC/ Minnesota Aging Pathways, Community Partners, Friends of Finland, Friends of Flathorn-Gegoka Trails, Head of the Lakes United Way, Lake County Historical Society, Lake County Veterans Services, Minnesota Veterans Home, North Shore Area Partners, North Shore Mental Health Group, Operation Volunteers For Veterans, Rocky Wall Entertainment, Superior Hiking Trail Association, Two Harbors Public Library, WTIP North Shore Community Radio

Lunch: Free boxed lunches provided by Baptism River BBQ at noon, while supplies last!

Music: Local pianist Marcia Oates and Northern Minnesotan guitarist, singer and songwriter Therese Marty will provide music during the event.

Air Purifier Distribution: Head of the Lakes United Way received a donation of 15 Medify Air MA-35 Wall Mount Air Purifiers that will be distributed on a first come, first served basis, one per household. Residents must be present to receive a purifier.

The Medify purifier donation was facilitated by Duluth resident Travis Wright with distribution assistance from the American Red Cross.
