BETWEEN HOWLS
Between Howls are dynamic vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Ren Cooper Howl & guitarist/singer-songwriter Nick Muska Howl. The two perform a blend of folk, rock and soul featuring a distinctive take on the catalogs of artists past & present alongside their own original material.

The Howl’s met in college at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. They first crossed paths as members of various jazz ensembles, as well as at house parties where they would steal songs from each other’s playlists. After a fateful late night jam, the two began performing publicly in the winter of 2018 as “Cooper & Muska.”

They have since performed across the US, and in 2021 relocated to Los Angeles, CA. While in California they cowrote several albums worth of material together, primarily as frontmen for the touring rock group One Less Guest. The Howl’s have also contributed to numerous records for other artists, and have helped score two films- a PBS documentary & a short which recently debuted at Grauman’s TCL Chinese Theatre.

After many years of being friends and bandmates, Ren & Nick were married in September of 2023. The two plan to release their debut album, Cabin Fever , March 20 of 2025 with a cross country tour to follow.

SKARLETT WOODS
Often known for her way of entwining mesmerizing vocal passages with a 7-string guitar groove far advanced beyond your average singer/songwriter, Skarlett Woods brings folk and West Coast Jazz to the same dinner table.

Weaving Swing and Jazz into folk-themed stories of love, she has a stage presence that demands the attention of a room. Taking her listeners on upbeat rhythmic rides over heart-swelling arrangements of originals and covers, Skarlett has simply become more comfortable showing herself in the lights. She took a spotlight in the 2022 Dylan Fest Songwriters Contest as one of the winning songs that evening. She is currently in the studio with Minneapolis Producer/Songwriter, Kevin Bowe, who has worked with Jonny Lang, Etta James, Joe Cocker, and many others, to release her sophomore album in the Fall of 2023.
