AICHO hosts “Apaakoziganike: Making Traditional Tobacco” March 29, 2022 | 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm CST Via Zoom Arne Vainio, MD, a Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe tribal citizen and family practice physician, will provide a virtual demonstration on making apaakozigan (traditional tobacco made from the inner bark of red willow). He will also teach about harvesting, processing, and cultural and spiritual significance of akawe asemaa (first tobacco). Time for Q & A will be included.
