Back Tracks: Three Music Questions with Thomlin Swan

Although the idea of leading a non-profit was never the goal, Thomlin Swan is finding plenty of value in having taken on the role of Director of the Carlton County Historical Society. With a personal history in art and storytelling, Thomlin is hoping to shine a light on past events and people, and to encourage learning, healing, and processing.

When it comes to music, Thomlin recalls two initial album purchases that would frequently find their way into the discman. Thomlin's first live concert experience was at a dive bar in Brooklyn for a household name, but it was the opening band that really turned heads. And their guilty pleasure song is a catalyst for tidying up around the house. "I literally sing that song to myself when I'm cleaning and organizing."

You can hear Back Tracks every Friday at 8am on Northland Morning.
