Sally Franson's latest novel, Big in Sweden, follows main character Paulie along a twisting and turning adventure on the Swedish television program Sverige och Mig.

While the book is fiction, Franson was heavily inspired by her own life.

"Like the main character of Big in Sweden... I participated in a Swedish reality show called Alt för Sverige in 2022, which is a mix of The Amazing Race meets Who Do You Think You Are. It's partly an adventure around the nation of Sweden and partly a very heartfelt exploration of genealogy."

Big in Sweden marks Franson's second time being nominated for the Minnesota Book Award. The book can be found at libraries, as well as purchased at your local indie bookstore or online. For those interested in the audio version, it's read by notable Franson fan Meg Ryan.
