Community Connection: "Dance TV"

"The most interesting part of it is what's happening backstage," says Dance TV creator Andy Frye. "That is the show."

Dance TV is a 75-minute musical theater experience happening on the Zeitgeist stage April 25th-27th. The story follows the production of a televised dance show. Highlighting off-camera costume changes and the character interaction behind the curtain are part of the drama.

Since 2016, the show has gone through drafts and iterations, but is coming off of a sold-out run in October of 2023. Several performers have remained on board since the initial workshops. Co-creator Christine Pfieffer Stocke recalled approaching local performers when Dance TV was still in the early stages and asking them to take part in something "really weird". The response was positive. "They've been with us now for five years."

Showtimes for Dance TV are 7:30pm on Thursday, April 25th, as well as 6pm and 8:30pm on Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th. For tickets and more information, visit the Dance TV website.
