Maria Bamford is coming home this weekend. The Duluth-native has spent the past decades making her name in comedy on a national level, and she now has a book to her name as well. Sure, I'll Join Your Cult is a memoir about mental illness, the many groups that Bamford has found herself involved with, and the unique ideologies within.

Bamford has found a seat in many 12-Step groups, musical organizations and religious gatherings, and dives into the topic of "cults" (a term used quite loosely) with a detailed and humorous inspection of her immediate family. "The best cults, I think, are the ones that are free," says Bamford.

Making the most of her trip to the Northland, Bamford has two events slated over the coming weekend. She will be performing at 9pm at the Norshor Theatre on Saturday, February 17th along with Wisconsin comedian Jackie Kashian. And on Sunday the 18th, she'll be at Zenith Bookstore in West Duluth from 2-4pm for a book event. Sure, I'll Join Your Cult is available at Zenith and many other booksellers.

For tickets and more information for this weekend's events, visit the Norshor Theatre website and the Zenith Bookstore website.
