The Duluth Folk School Searches for a New Home

KUMD speaks with Bryan French the co-founder and current director of the Duluth Folk School.

Founded in 2016, they have experienced such significant growth that the space they share with Dovetail Café in Lincoln Park is becoming too cramped, and often can be too disruptive for the co-habitation of the two entities.

As their newsletter states, there is "[L]ots of noise, and hubbub, and energy. It's fun, but it can make it difficult to focus."

So, they are looking for a second home: A piece of land, say, an old farm with gardening space, access to water and trails, trees, and outbuildings that would allow a greater diversity of classes, barn dances, et al.  The "where" and the "how" are still unclear at this point, but Bryan remains optimistic that such a space can be located in the Duluth area.
