Art in Bayfront Park

Tim Cortes

This week one of the most visited festival of the summer happens, Tall Ships Duluth.  But this timethe festival has a partner; the Annual Art in Bayfront Park bringing the work of 180 jury selected artists from Minnesota and beyond.

Opening Thursday August 18 at 11 am, Art in Bayfront Park is open 9-5 through Sunday August 21. Festival goers will enjoy music, food and lots of art from pottery to paintings, jewelry to glass.  Each year the festival has a featured artist and this year, the drawing of local talent Tim Cortes graces the festival posters and cards.  Using Prismacolor pencils, Cortes evokes the Tall Ships sailing into the Duluth harbor with incredible depth and realism you might think its a photograph.  He joins along with festival director DeBora Rachelle Bernick.
