9/10 MN Reads: "The War Came Home With Him: A Daughter's Memoir" by Catherine Madison

We visit with editor, journalist and author Catherine Madison, whose latest book The War Came Home with Him: A Daughter's Memoir has just been published by the University of Minnesota Press.  She recounts her father's lifetime of struggle after three years as a POW during the Korean War, and how their relationship and her efforts to piece together his past following his death were also tribulations for her.

Catherine Madison was editor-in-chief of Utne Reader, senior editor at Adweek and Creativity Magazine, founding editor of American Advertising, and editor-in-chief of Format Magazine. She has written articles for many publications, including the Chicago Tribune, Star Tribune, and Minnesota Monthly.

Chris Harwood is the former Production Director/Program Director of The North 103.3, and the host of Soul Village. He is also a musician, a music historian, an audio engineer, and an avid record collector.
